Moisture Festival Fabulous Fling

Join us at Hale's Palladium on February 10th for a Fabulous Fling you won't soon forget! This unique blend of dance party, varietè performance and auction will inspire appreciation for the things you love. You'll be welcomed by Susan Maclain on her golden harp, come face to face with cupid, be hypnotized by the sensual movements of the one and only Fuchsia Foxx, hear the love songs of Northwestern folk all-stars The Canote Brothers, then swing your partner to the Moisture Festival's Romance Square Dance, led by caller Tony Mates. All the while, you’ll be fed delicious treats from the Hale’s Ales Brewery Pub and Tom Bennett Catering.

The most fun may turn out to be our silent and live auction with festival favorite Kevin Joyce as MC and auctioneer. Our fundraising philosophy is community oriented and this auction gives our patrons and supporters a great chance to support the festival with the opportunity to bid on unique items and unforgettable experiences. We have been pleasantly surprised by the outpouring of creative and valuable auction items, such as:

  • A $600 bottle of 2005 Quilceda Creek Cabernet Sauvignon with a splendid perfume of violets, wood smoke, truffle, Asian spices, black cherry, and black currant preserves, aged for 22 months in 100% new French oak.
  • Two admissions to Teatro Zinzanni, including the critically acclaimed three-and-a-half-hour performance and a five-course gourmet meal.
  • Two Gold Passes to Bumbershoot 2012, including admission for all festival days, access to the exclusive and air-conditioned hospitality lounge, a limited-edition poster, six drinks in the beer gardens and special VIP entry/reserved seating at the Mainstage.
  • Festival memorabilia from our nearly decade-long history.
  • Several sailing getaways on Puget Sound.

You can get preview all of these exciting auction items by opening our catalogue here

We are counting on you to come ready to bid in support of the world's largest and longest comedy/variete festival as we bid you amour!

SUPPORT THE VARIETE ARTS IN SEATTLE

1. Please donate now:

Please consider a tax-deductible gift to the Moisture Festival and join a diverse community of arts patrons, performers, non-profit professionals and small business owners who are coming together to make the Moisture Festival’s 9th year one that Seattle will never forget. You too can do your part to help cement Seattle's standing as an international hub for lovers and practitioners of this time-honored art form.

As a non-profit organization, the Moisture Festival gets only about two thirds of its annual income from ticket and merchandise sales. The rest comes from donors who want to keep the variety arts alive in Seattle. Donors like you!

People of all ages who enjoy the wonderful, weird, sublime and stupendous skills of variety artists make up the growing Moisture Festival community, which included over 12,000 patrons in 2011. Every year, more and more are being drawn to the lure of laughing with the whole family, being amazed by the unexpected and witnessing the beauty of true artists at work right before their eyes.
As Seattle Times theater critic Misha Berson wrote, “the Olympics of Ooh and Ahh . . . just keeps expanding to meet a seemingly insatiable local demand for whimsy, sauciness, low comedy and skillful stunts.”

The Moisture Festival is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, EIN: 20-3366934

101 Donations – We’ve set a goal of collecting 101 donations of $100. Success will mean raising $10,100 that will provide meals, travel and lodging for festival performers and crew.

World-class performers come from all over come to support the festival and its mission to keep the variety arts alive. We want to do our best to be ambassadors for the performing arts in our city and make our guests’ visit to Seattle enjoyable.

Make a $100 contribution and you’ll be welcomed at an invitation-only viewing of Treasures of Vaudeville, a rare compilation of hilarious, awe-inspiring American vaudeville acts pulled from the attics and archives of festival performers and supporters. History has never been so funny! (Date and time TBD.)
